In
2007, the U.S. government officially recognized this
Cambodian-rich area with its name, " Cambodia Town."
Approximately
50,000 Cambodians were reported to live in Long Beach, which is home
to the second largest population of Cambodians
outside of Southeast Asia and the city has its own
Cambodian consulate.
Many of the Cambodian-Americans
came to the United States as refugees in the 1970s. The Cambodian immigrants and
their descendents celebrate their traditions and
culture by sharing these events with the American
community surrounding Cambodia Town.
