LONG BEACH CITY, home to Cambodia Town

Long Beach is an American beach city in Los Angeles County, California. The city is home to Cambodia Town, which boasts a population of approximately 50,000 Cambodians, the second largest Cambodian population outside of Southeast Asia. Cambodia Town is the sister city to Phnom Penh and the official name for a roughly one-mile long business corridor along Anaheim Street between Atlantic and Junipero Avenues.

Visitors to the area can enjoy the city’s many offerings, both day and night. Downtown Long Beach, which is about a 5 to 10 minute drive from Cambodia Town, offers art museums and the waterfront, among other shopping opportunities and eateries. The Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center offers large meeting spaces, exhibition halls, and the arena housing the Long Beach Performance Arts Center. The waterfront is home to the recently renovated Shoreline Marina and Village. Other attractions include the famous passenger steamship the Queen Mary and the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Visitors looking for Cambodian culture can find original Cambodian and other Asian food in Cambodia Town. Or just enjoy a night out and have a drink at the Cambodian clubs and restaurants on Anaheim Street. Downtown Long Beach boasts a sensory overload of music with Latin clubs, jazz and cigar lounges, and other establishments offering salsa to rock n’ roll where you can sit back with a drink, enjoy a number of cuisines, or dance the night away.

The Long Beach department of parks, recreation & marine offers family activities at the nature center, as well as adult night walks to take in the moonlight and the sounds of nature. The city also sponsors parades and festivals to celebrate, among other things, Cambodian holidays and tradition. Visitors can purchase items chosen from a number of various traditional and modern shops or vendors, from Cambodia Town to the City Place Mall.

Whether you are single or have a family, you will find limitless entertainment and fun in and around Long Beach and the Cambodia Town area.
